Position Title: Bus Route and Trip Driver

Department: Transportation

FT/PT Status: FT Bus Route Driver and Trip Driver

Start Date: Immediately

Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma and relevant certifications and training
• Excellent Communication
• Customer-focus approach
• CDL license and experience preferred, however, we will train if needed
• Clean Driving Record
• Background check and ability to work with children
• Must be up to date on DOT and State rules and regulations
  
  

Salary Range: Hourly rate $19.31 - $25.00, in addition route pay of $131.31 per day (both am and pm route must be driven to receive full day pay) Benefits: Retirement, Paid Time Off, Medical, Dental

Job Goal

• Prioritize the physical safety and well-being of all passengers during loading, unloading, and transit
• Adhere strictly to established time schedules and assigned routes
• Obey all traffic laws, school district policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
• Maintain professional, positive relationships with students, parents, school staff
  
  

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide safe transportation for all passengers
• Provide outstanding customer service as a representative of the transportation department within Pine Island Schools
• Ensures the highest level of student safety through transportation training, maintenance and procedures
• Evening or weekend hours may be required on an irregular basis
• Other duties as assigned
• Hold CDL with air brakes and proper school bus endorsements
• Perform daily vehicle pre- and post- trip inspections to ensure safety and compliance
• Maintain accurate mileage records
• Ensure and maintain orderly behavior of passengers on the bus
• Follow all traffic laws and regulations
