Job Overview

Budtenders are central to the customer experience and sales performance at Pine Grove. Reporting directly to ownership, budtenders assist in all daily operations of the dispensary, with a primary focus on customer service. Budtenders set the example for the rest of the team, ensuring excellence in attitude, care, and compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales Leadership

• Provide an engaging and personalized customer experience by answering product questions, providing product recommendations, and helping customers find the best product fit
• Order preparation - fulfill online orders and weigh-out cannabis on-demand
• Promotions - inform customers of new products, current promotions, and upcoming events
• Promote Loyalty Platform and encourage customers to sign-up
• Data and Reporting - monitor sales trends and success of active deals and inform store leadership
• Capture customer feedback and communicate to store leadership
• Answer Store Phone - answer questions and direct customers/vendors to the website

Operational Tasks and Work

• Maintain Deli-Counter, Deli-Station, and Pre-pack appearance & inventory levels in accordance with Safe Handling Policies
• Perform Quality Control assessment of Bulk Flower when Pre-packing and Refilling Jars
• Perform weekly inventory audits in accordance with Audit Policy
• Manage and restock sales floor inventory in accordance with Safe Handling Policies
• Receive and Record sample deliveries
• Prepare product packaging - sticker flower bags, stamp shopping bags, sticker pre-roll tubes, and apply necessary labels to all other inventory
• Summarize key shift notes via a detailed Shift Report
• Maintain dispensary aesthetic according to the PGO brand, including music selection
• Maintain dispensary cleanliness according to cleaning checklists
• Perform general office work, such as filing records, operating copy/print machines, sorting change, and other duties as assigned

Compliance

• Cash-Handling - accurately manage sales transactions, cash drops, change swaps, opening and closing the register
• Manage flow of customers throughout the dispensary
• Check customer IDs and ensure validity
• Accurately collect customer information in the POS System
• Maintain confidentiality of customer identity & information
• Maintain compliance with all local and state regulations
• Monitor security system and enforce company security protocols

Qualifications

• Intimate knowledge of cannabis genetics, grow methodologies, and cultivar profiles
• Experience in cannabis, retail, hospitality, or patient services preferred
• Participates in and embraces a team environment
• Must be computer literate
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid ID
• Must demonstrate ability to obtain a VT CCB Employee ID Card - preference given to current CCB Card holders
• Ability to pass a criminal background check as it pertains to VT guidelines

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods
• High-paced sales environment
• Ability to work a minimum of 5 hours a day
• Flexible schedule availability to include evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability and willingness to work in the following conditions:
• General office environment
• Extended computer usage
• Work environments that include exposure to, but not limited to: cannabis odors, indoor Heat & AC, motion, and noise
