Purpose
The Human Resources Coordinator assists with the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. The HR Coordinator carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), training and development, payroll, benefits, and general HR responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities
The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for all or part of these areas:
- Assist with daily operations of the Human Resources Department, including the HR email box, timecard punch management and review, and employee communications
- Manage the Employee Onboarding process
- Handle unemployment and other claims responses
- Audit employee files, I-9 Audits, scan and ensure files are accessible and managed in ADP, and manage document uploads of tax and other documents to ADP
- Conduct employee orientation
- Maintain employee-related databases
- Prepare and develop various HR reports and other periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested
- Assist with the implementation of the Performance Management Process via ADP.
- Create and provide necessary education and materials to managers and employees including workshops, manuals, employee handbooks, and standardized reports
- Maintain employee training records
- Partner with management to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and laws
- Assist with the implementation of company programs
- Comply with all existing governmental and legal reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Department of Labor, and so forth
- Assist with employee communication and feedback through avenues such as company meetings, suggestion programs, employee satisfaction surveys, newsletters, employee focus groups, one-on-one meetings, and Intranet use
- Perform other Human Resources responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Core Competencies
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment; must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
- Effective oral and written communication. Excellent organizational skills.
- Experienced in Multi-State Employment law, payroll, benefits, leave, and training preferred
- Experience with HRIS system – ADP strongly preferred
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, HR or other related field or equivalent experience required.
- 1-2 years of HR-related experience preferred
- HR certification preferred
Environment
- This is a non-safety-sensitive position working in an office/warehouse environment. Essential physical requirements - sitting, standing, and bending as needed.
