Scenic Designer (Temporary, Part-time)

Position Title: Scenic Designer (Temporary, Part-Time)Department: West Campus - Performing ArtsRate of Pay: $1,200 per productionClosed Date: December 4, 2025; 5:00PM Arizona Time Position Summary:The Scenic Designer is responsible for the designs for all scenic elements of a theatrical production, as well as consulting throughout the building process.

• Production: Fairview
• Position Dates: February 16, 2026 - April 22, 2026
  
  

The work schedule for this position may include working evenings and weekends.Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create a concept and design in keeping with the director’s vision for the production, within the show budget
• Create shop-ready designs including ground plans, elevations, and color renderings
• Advise / assist the technical director / shop supervisor throughout the process
• Attend production meetings virtually or in-person
• Attend designer run and all technical/dress rehearsals through the final dress rehearsal, in-person
  
  

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Have previous theatrical set design experience
• Understanding of the theatrical space and building process and materials
  
  

Preferred:

• Degree in scenic design or enrolled in scenic design educational program
  
  

The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Have experience with Vectorworks or other CAD program
• Flexibility
• Good written communication skills
