Position Title: Drama Director (Temporary, Part-Time)Department: West Campus - Center for the ArtsRate of Pay: $3,500.00 per productionClosed Date: December 4, 2025; 5:00PM Arizona Time Position Summary:The Drama Production Director is responsible for holding auditions to select the acting cast members. The Director collaborates with the technical crew, which may consist of lighting, sound, set and costume designers and building crews in each department. The Director will collaborate with theatre coordinators (Production Manager and Technical Director) on extensive production designs.

- Creates the artistic vision of the production and communicates that with the design team before rehearsals start
- Blocks the play by adapting the actor movements to workable floor plans of the set
- Leads rehearsals - they collaborate creatively with the actors and technical crew to make the blocking natural, changing it when necessary and allowing for inspiration
- Determines the final pacing of the play in conjunction with their artistic vision, bringing together all technical and artistic elements
- Attends all rehearsals in-person up to and including the opening performance (Rehearsals begin March 9, 2026)
- Attends weekly production meetings virtually or in-person
- High school diploma or GED
- Motivated by strong passions for theater and art
- Minimum of two (2) years of directing experience
- Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Directing or other Theater degree
- Ability to collaborate effectively and creatively with all members of the production team
- Time management
- Ability to expertly communicate, in a timely manner, with members of the production team; both written and verbally
