Position Summary:
The Senior Manager of EH&S Compliance and Training is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and oversight of enterprise-wide Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) training programs and compliance initiatives. This role ensures that all EH&S programs align with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry best practices while fostering a culture of safety and compliance across the organization.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage EH&S training strategies, programs, and materials tailored to meet the needs of diverse employee groups.
- Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA) as well as company standards.
- Monitor and audit EH&S programs and training effectiveness; recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with operations, HR, and leadership teams to ensure safety and compliance programs are embedded into daily operations.
- Lead compliance assessments, internal audits, and regulatory inspections, ensuring timely resolution of findings.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and industry trends; adjust programs accordingly.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to EH&S training and compliance performance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop EH&S training staff or specialists.
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts for training systems, compliance tools, and consulting support.
- Prepare and present compliance reports, dashboards, and updates to senior leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

- Proven experience developing and delivering EH&S training programs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make sound recommendations.
- Experience managing compliance audits and regulatory inspections.
- Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS), compliance tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Professional certifications (CSP, CIH, CHMM, ASP, etc.) highly desirable.
Education:
- High school degree or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree or other safety certification preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based with periodic site visits to operations, terminals, or field locations.
- Requires up to 25% travel, depending on business needs.
- Exposure to field environments including industrial, transportation, and construction settings.
- Required to have/carry a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card when on maritime facilities and vessels. Otherwise, an escort with a valid TWIC card is required.
