With over 50 years of trusted service, Pilot has built a reputation for quality, integrity, and exceptional client care, backed by a team that takes pride in craftsmanship and long-term relationships.
Position Overview
Pilot Painting is seeking an experienced Business Developer to expand our presence across the Inland Empire and San Diego regions. This individual will be responsible for driving growth within the HOA, multi-family, and commercial segments through relationship-based selling, strategic outreach, and long-term partnership development.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in business development and marketing within the construction or property services industries. Estimating experience (3 years) is highly preferred, but a well-established book of business or client network in these segments may substitute for direct estimating experience.

Key Responsibilities
Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the HOA, multi-family, and commercial markets.
Build and maintain strong relationships with property management firms, HOA boards, and general contractors.
Collaborate with the estimating and operations teams to prepare and deliver accurate, competitive proposals.
Partner with the marketing team to execute regional campaigns, sponsorships, and association events that increase market visibility.
Provide project highlights, event photos, and updates from the field to support Pilot’s digital marketing and social media presence.
Contribute to educational content for trade publications (CAI, BOMA, CACM, etc.) to position Pilot as an industry thought leader.
Leverage LinkedIn and other platforms for professional networking and consistent, brand-aligned engagement.
Maintain accurate tracking of leads, bids, and client communications within the company CRM (Infor).
Represent Pilot Painting at trade shows, networking functions, and association meetings.
Provide ongoing market intelligence, competitor insights, and client feedback to leadership.
Ensure an exceptional client experience from initial contact through project completion.
Qualifications
3 years of business development or estimating experience.
Experience in the construction, property management, or building services industries (required).
Proven success in generating and closing new business through relationship-based selling.
Strong understanding of HOA, commercial, and multi-family markets in Southern California.
Proficiency with social media platforms (especially LinkedIn and Instagram) for business development and brand engagement.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in the field.
Experience with CRM and estimating software.
