Role Overview
Handles biweekly multi‑state payroll with precision and confidentiality. Audits payroll data, processes adjustments, maintains accurate records, and prepares payroll reports. Provides backup support for salaried and Canadian payroll. Works within established procedures while meeting strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Process end‑to‑end biweekly payroll for hourly employees
- Ensure accurate taxes, deductions, benefits, and garnishments
- Maintain and update employee payroll data (new hires, terminations, rate changes, transfers)
- Perform pre‑ and post‑payroll audits and reconciliations
- Serve as primary contact for payroll questions; resolve issues quickly and professionally
- Produce payroll, labor distribution, attendance, and compliance reports
- Support special projects and additional duties as assigned
Required Skills & Experience
- 3 years payroll processing experience preferred
- Strong data entry, 10‑key, and math skills
- Proficient in Excel and business software
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines independently
- Strong communication skills with a diverse workforce
- Strict commitment to confidentiality
- Knowledge of payroll compliance, wage/hour rules, and payroll tax practices
Preferred Experience
- Automated timekeeping systems
- Multi‑union, multi‑state payroll (250 employees)
- Dayforce/Ceridian or DOS systems
- Garnishment administration and payroll reporting
