What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Support Specialist position at Pike County Board of DD-Help Me Grow division?
The Pike Board of Developmental Disabilities, Help Me Grow Division, is looking for a motivated, well organized individual to provide high quality home visiting services to at risk prenatal families and families with children up to age 5. Applicant will provide parent education and all services in the child's natural environment, in the home. Staff have access to a company vehicle and are reimbursed for mileage when using personal vehicle using the OH states mileage reimbursement rate.
Applicant must meet the criteria to apply for and obtain and maintain an HFA Home Visitor credential. Applicant will be rigorously trained in child development, addiction and its impact on families, required screening tools to be used with families, and several other areas. Staff will be trained in the Healthy Families of America evidenced based home visiting model and will receive weekly reflective supervision sessions. Applicant must be amenable to reflective and trauma informed practice.
At least 2 years experience of working with infants and toddlers is strongly preferred. A minimum of an associates degree, or equal certification is preferred, but not required. At a minimum, applicant must provide a copy of their HS Diploma, and any applicable transcripts, in regards to education/experience requirements. Applicant should have typing and basic computer skills and experience.
Applicant must possess a valid OH drivers license and be insurable through the County Board insurance, pass a BCI background check, and screened through the OH SACWIS system. Please provide 2 references with your resume.
