Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Growth: Apply high-level planning to determine department objectives, focusing on maximizing consumer appeal, sales, and long-term profitability.
- Financial & Performance Oversight: Coordinate budgets and review performance data (financial, sales, and activity reports) to measure productivity and hit aggressive goals.
- Team Leadership: Lead the recruitment, training, and daily supervision of your staff. You will set unit policies, conduct performance reviews, and mentor your team in excellence.
- Merchandising & Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors to improve our product range. You'll oversee all department pricing and promotional strategies.
- Operational Integrity: Ensure the department operates with maximum efficiency while adhering to all company policies and safety standards.
- Expert Oversight: Maintain the highest standards of food safety, quality control, and department cleanliness.
What We're Looking For:
- Commercial Mindset: Extensive experience in understanding consumer needs, retail marketing, and sales principles.
- Leadership Mastery: Exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage direct reports with a focus on professional development.
- Technical & Physical Skill: Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and safely operate hazardous equipment (butcher knives, power slicers, heated wrapping stations, etc.) with precision.
- Experience: Previous management experience in a meat department or high-volume retail environment is highly recommended.
