Responsibilities for all staff

Principle Responsibilities job specific:
- Arrives at the workstation on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work; works all scheduled shifts and attends required training courses and meetings.
- Provide continuous attention to customer needs; greet, assist, and thank customers in a prompt, courteous and friendly manner.
- Responsible for the food preparation in the department to include inventory, prepping, cooking, and cleaning.
- Organize and run all managerial duties throughout their department.
- Provide leadership and guidance; analyze situations and implement solutions independently or through the management of others.
- Devise and implement merchandising initiatives to drive sales while ensuring overall cleanliness and organization of the store area.
- Administer performance management by diagnosing improvement opportunities, providing effective feedback, coaching, and corrective action plans.
- Direct activities and train personnel for efficient operation of concessions and turnover of floor with optimum cleanliness and appearance.
- Direct daily operations for merchandising, weekly payroll, scheduling, and established sales goals.
- Operate department equipment and tools in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notify store management.
- Notify management of team member theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark-downs, property defacement or any action that is illegal and/or against company policy.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning equipment and utensils.
- Practice preventive maintenance by thoroughly inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
- Understand the company’s checkout/purchasing procedures to include how customers and staff pay for items in the store.
- Report on pricing discrepancies to Management and/or Pricing/Scan Coordinator.
- Follow established policies and procedures (where applicable) for rewards programs, gift cards, and coupons.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines to include maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned to include stocking, cleaning, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

- Ability to obtain Food Manager certification within 12 months (submit with application if you have current certification) depending on location of Team lead position.
- Ability to communicate with associates and guests to provide incredible Customer Service, including greeting customers and answering questions in a friendly manner, proactively offering assistance and providing accurate and timely information, making product/service recommendations, and accommodating special requests.
- Ability to obtain Food Manager certification within 12 months (submit with application if you have current certification)
- Properly handle, prepare, transport and store products; ensuring food and human safety practices are strictly adhered per applicable guidelines and Company policies and procedures.
- Ability to prioritize requests and department activities while managing interruptions and attending to details to complete tasks within deadlines, using good organizational skills.
- Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system, and handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, etc. and checkout procedures according to company policy.
- Ability to read, count and write, to accurately complete all documentation.
- Ability to freely access all areas of the store including the selling floor, stock area and register area.
- Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing 0-50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds. With or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to stand and/or bend over a worktable for duration of shift. With or without a reasonable accommodation

Knowledge, Skills and Ability and preferences for job:
- 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Previous experience managing in a deli/cooking environment
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
- Customer service experience, which must be demonstrated in your work history.
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
- Excellent Customer Service Attitude and Skills
- Grocery store and/or retail experience in a leadership role in the deli department to include fry cook and hot/cold bar
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours to include evenings and weekends dependably
