Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Concrete Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping, smoothing, and finishing concrete surfaces on a variety of projects, from commercial buildings to residential renovations. Duties
- Prepare concrete surfaces by leveling, smoothing, and finishing with hand tools and power tools such as trowels, floats, and screeds.
- Install rebar and metal reinforcement according to schematics and blueprints to strengthen concrete structures.
- Operate heavy equipment including concrete mixers, pumps, and other machinery necessary for mixing and placing concrete efficiently.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute concrete forms, layouts, and specifications.
- Apply finishing techniques such as stamping, staining, or sealing to enhance aesthetic appeal in hardscape projects like patios or walkways.
- Perform rebar installation, form setting, caulking, and stucco application as needed for various renovation or new construction projects.
- Assist with masonry tasks including tile laying, flooring installation, and metal stud framing when required on site.
- Maintain safety protocols by using hand tools and power tools properly while handling heavy lifting tasks on construction sites.
- Collaborate with team members including carpenters, masons, welders, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in concrete finishing with a strong understanding of construction site operations.
- Mechanical knowledge related to operating mixers, pumps, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and effectively.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Skilled in rebar installation, form setting, plastering, stucco work, and masonry techniques.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes is a plus for understanding project scope and materials needed.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy lifting, scaffolding, roofing support structures, and site hazard mitigation.
- Experience working with hand tools such as trowels and floats as well as power tools like grinders or drills.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or working at heights when necessary.
- Valid driver’s license with commercial driving experience preferred for site transportation needs.
