At Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center, a VECCS Level 1 Certified Hospital, located in Middletown, CT, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, comprehensive care to patients at every stage of their health journey—from wellness visits to critical care.

What To Expect
We strongly believe that veterinary medicine is a team sport, and our preferred candidate is someone who feels the same. The ideal candidate is confident in their technical skills and abilities including but not limited to all aspects of practice, including anesthesia and anesthetic monitoring, venipuncture, dental cleanings, client education, drug calculations and protocols, and surgery.
Other responsibilities include effective communication with both team members and clients, as well as confidently educating pet owners about their pets’ care and procedures. Experience with CPR, EzyVet and Smartflow are an additional plus, but not required. We highly value collaboration from all staff members, so please speak up, as your input is not only valued but can make a difference.
Compensation
Depending on experience, starting at $19.50-$30.00 an hour.
Shift differentials for 2nd and 3rd shifts!
Anticipated Schedule
This is a full-time position:
4-5 days a week
Weekends and some holidays are required.

Requirements
- 1-3 years Veterinary Technician experience.
- Associates in Veterinary Technology is a plus.
- CVT license is a plus.
- Knowledge of Anesthesia and monitoring.
- Phlebotomy
- Knowledge of the procedures used for scheduling patients, receiving, treating, and requesting laboratory tests.
- Knowledge of the use, care, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment.
- Knowledge of the instruments, materials, and standardized procedures used in the full variety of treatments to prepare and provide “tableside” assistance.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal services. This includes client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of client satisfaction.
- Desire to help teach/mentor others (pay it forward)
- Must be 18 years or older to apply.
Salary : $19 - $30
