Who we are:
Piedmont Media, a nonprofit news organization in Northern Virginia, is seeking a talented and competitive inside multimedia advertising sales representative with the potential for growth into outside sales.
Located less than an hour from Washington, D.C., Piedmont Media operates two print newspapers and digital news sites serving Fauquier and Prince William counties. The organization has consistently produced award-winning journalism and is financially stable with strong philanthropic support.
We hope to transform our advertising sales to be digital first and this role provides an opportunity to work with our team and our customers to invent new sales products that better connect our audience with products and services that fit their needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in this effort.
About the role:
Responsibilities include:
- Retain existing accounts and consistently add new clients to your account list.
- Effectively build relationships with clients and understand their advertising and marketing needs
- Learn and be able to confidently pitch our print and digital products
- Execute campaigns effectively from first contact through post-sale
- Develop and effectively communicate sales plans
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales and revenue goals.
- Maintaining and extend the database of prospects.
- Collaborate effectively with internal partners in other departments.
The right candidate will:
- Experience in account management and business development
- A track record of success building and strengthening client relationships
- Knowledge of the digital and print media environment and an ability to react and adapt to changing market trends
- A strong work ethic, attention to detail and a natural professionalism
- Be a good teammate and supportive colleague who values others.
- Have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and the ability to travel to meet clients as needed.
- Comfort using a CRM system
Salary - This is full-time position and pay will depend on experience. The ideal candidate would have 1 to 5 years of sales experience. The target salary range for this role is $40,000 to $60,000 per year, plus commission.
