This position is for current students enrolled in the School District of Pickens County.
General Statement of Job
- Under regular supervision, performs a variety of basic maintenance and craftsman tasks in order to maintain and provide safe facilities and a safe environment for students and school personnel. Loads, transports, unloads, delivers equipment, materials/supplies, and tools to District sites as needed.
- Must have the ability to get along with fellow workers and personnel at the schools throughout the district. Must have good character.
- Prompt and regular attendance is essential.
Reports to: Coordinator of Maintenance or his/her designee. This is an entry-level position
Example of Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Ability to read & understand blueprints, specifications
- Ability to understand oral & written instructions.
- Ability to keep schedules and records.
- Be able to understand and apply the basic principles of refrigeration.
- Basic knowledge of assembly, adjustment, repair and maintenance of HVAC equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks that are assigned by the coordinator or his/her designee.
- Test and calibrate HVAC equipment and controls.
- Assist HVAC Technicians in diagnosing and repair of HVAC equipment.
- Have the ability and willingness to assist electrical, plumbing trades.
Additional Duties:
Will be required to work with all trades and levels of Operations maintenance department.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Current Pickens County School District Student
- Must be in good physical condition. Able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing ladders or walking.
- Must be able to work safely in an environment containing caustic chemicals, cleaning materials, dust and noise. Routinely required to work under inclement weather conditions.
- Must have a valid S.C. driver’s license.
