Job Description
This is an entry-level position in the Pickens County School District. The HVAC Assistant Student Work Study will work under regular supervision to perform a variety of basic maintenance and craftsman tasks.
- Loads, transports, unloads, delivers equipment, materials/supplies, and tools to District sites as needed.
- Must have the ability to get along with fellow workers and personnel at the schools throughout the district. Must have good character.
- Prompt and regular attendance is essential.
Essential Functions
The HVAC Assistant Student Work Study will be responsible for:
- Ability to read & understand blueprints, specifications
- Ability to understand oral & written instructions
- Ability to keep schedules and records
- Be able to understand and apply the basic principles of refrigeration
- Basis knowledge of assembly, adjustment, repair and maintenance of HVAC equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks that are assigned by the coordinator or his/her designee
- Test and calibrate HVAC equipment and controls
- Assist HVAC Technicians in diagnosing and repair of HVAC equipment
- Have the ability and willingness to assist electrical, plumbing trades
