Dishwasher/Porter

Position Summary:

As a Team Member at Piaule, you will play a vital role in keeping the work areas and equipment sanitized and organized. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about learning and eager to gain experience in a professional kitchen environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Maintain Piaules workspace cleanliness and organization.
• Work and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Piaule.
• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using a dishwasher or by hand.
• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
• Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
• Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
• Sort and remove trash and recycling, placing it in designated pickup areas.
• Maintain appropriate cleanliness of floors and dishwashing surfaces.
• Clean food preparation and production areas as required.
• Assist with receiving and storing food and supplies.
• Maintain the cleanliness of garbage and recycling containers.
• Transfer supplies or equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks.
• Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
• Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement.
• Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Remain calm under pressure and work efficiently during busy periods.
• Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Report equipment issues promptly to the designated manager and maintain equipment.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous kitchen experience; preferred but not required.
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
