We are now accepting applications for qualified candidates to join us at our Latham location in a part time dishwasher/porter role on our Kitchen Team. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are key attributes for the position. Cardona's is seeking dependable and dedicated candidates who enjoys working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Duties for the dishwasher/porter employee include cleaning the store, cleaning an array of soiled pots, pans and other food containers by washing them thoroughly. They will also restock items, unload company vans, help prepare cook stations, clean appliances and machines, empty and clean trash receptacles, and other duties, as needed.
Detailed responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the availability of clean dishes, pots, pans, and other food receptacles for the kitchen and other departments in the market
- Cleaning machines and appliances used in the kitchen and the market, such as pots, pans, mixers, ovens, food cases, coolers, etc.
- Unloading and storing deliveries
- Sweeping and mopping floors
- Taking out the trash and rinsing garbage cans
- Supporting other staff members by assisting with other tasks, as needed
Requirements:
- A positive attitude
- Prior food industry work experience.
- Strong problem solving and communication skills.
- Ability to stand or walk for 8-hour shifts and lift at least 50 pounds.
- Willingness to comply with all food safety procedures.
- Punctual
