Location: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid)

Duration: 12-Month Contract

Summary

We are seeking a Senior Scrum Master with strong Agile transformation experience to support strategic initiatives within a fast-paced financial services environment. This individual will play a key role in driving Agile best practices across cross-functional teams while also contributing from a project management perspective when needed.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience leading Scrum teams, facilitating Agile ceremonies, removing delivery blockers, and coaching stakeholders on Agile methodologies. In addition, this person should be comfortable operating in a hybrid Scrum Master / Project Manager capacity and possess strong knowledge of Middle and Back Office operations, specifically within derivatives-focused environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews
• Drive Agile transformation initiatives and support adoption of Agile best practices across teams
• Coach development teams, business stakeholders, and leadership on Scrum methodologies and continuous improvement practices
• Partner with Product Owners, Technology teams, Operations, and business stakeholders to define priorities and delivery timelines
• Remove blockers and manage dependencies to ensure smooth sprint execution and project delivery
• Monitor sprint progress, team velocity, risks, and delivery milestones
• Support project management responsibilities including project planning, governance, stakeholder communication, and status reporting
• Coordinate across Technology, Middle Office, Back Office, and Operations teams supporting derivatives initiatives
• Ensure projects remain aligned with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational processes
• Drive collaboration across distributed teams in a dynamic enterprise environment

Required Qualifications

• 7 years of experience as a Scrum Master within enterprise environments
• Strong experience with Agile transformation initiatives
• Proven ability to operate in a hybrid Scrum Master / Project Manager role
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification preferred
• Experience within financial services, preferably investment banking or capital markets
• Strong knowledge of Middle Office and Back Office operations
• Hands-on experience supporting derivatives-related projects or teams
• Familiarity with derivatives products, trade lifecycle, settlements, reconciliations, and operational workflows
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
• Experience using Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting derivatives operations, risk, or regulatory initiatives
• PMP certification or prior formal project management experience
• Exposure to capital markets technology and operational transformation programs
• Experience working within large global banking environments
