What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist - Float position at Physicians' Primary Care of Southwest Florida?
Celebrating 30 Years in Southwest Florida and we are still growing! Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida is a premier multi-specialty primary care practice with locations in Cape Coral, Estero, Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres. This is a float position but will be primarily based at our Lehigh Acres office.

- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures on patients
- Collect specimens in the correct container according to COLA requirements
- Ensure the correct recording and labeling of all specimens collected
- Clean, maintain, and stock phlebotomy area, draw stations, and patient restrooms
- Provide coverage at our satellite practice laboratories on an as-needed basis
- Maintain the strictest confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations
- Work schedule is flexible according to the needs at differing locations
- Must have reliable transportation
- Reliability is critical
- Great attention to detail and the ability to record information accurately
- Ability to develop and maintain a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with providers, staff, and patients
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques and equipment to perform routine tests
- One year of phlebotomy experience required
- CPR certification required or ability to obtain upon hire
