Summary / Objective:
The Medicare Sales Agent will speak to Medicare beneficiaries educating them on their Medicare plan options, rights and ensuring they are connected to a plan that best meets their needs. This position involves a blend of knowledge, empathy, and communication skills, as agents guide clients through the complexities of Medicare. Build community relationships to help drive self-generated sales.
Essential Functions:
• Participate in individual sales activities ensuring that Medicare Advantage recipients are making informed choices about their health care. This includes connecting with beneficiaries over the phone to provide expert guidance on their Medicare options. Other avenues for connection include email, conducting formal presentations, question, and answer sessions as well as one-on-one appointments.
• Identify, evaluate, solicit, and follow-up with business development opportunities through multiple sales, communications, and marketing methods.
• Maintain a solid understanding of the market served, CMS, Insurance Commissioner guidelines, and applicable policies and procedures.
• Build processes and tools to increase member retention and engagement to drive overall membership growth.
• Complete and process all required paperwork and online applications accurately and compliantly to enroll clients in their chosen Medicare plan.
• In addition to Medicare Advantage and Supplements production you may also represent other product lines management determines to be of value to our population. This may include cancer, hospital, life insurance or other lines of insurance coverage.
• Provide clear, accurate explanations of Medicare plan features, always follow CMS and Carrier compliance. This includes covering the Summary of Benefits and scope of appointments prior to any application.
• Report sales activities and market trends to managements including client feedback to help improve processes as appropriate.
• Ensure passing all AHIP, carrier and compliance training annually.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers including active listening, professional verbiage and written correspondence.
• Great with laptop computers, cell phones and the ability to navigate mobile apps. This also includes knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
