Facility Security Officer

Photo-Sonics, Inc. is a non-possessing facility. The Facility Security Officer (“FSO”) will advise the company of reporting and compliance issues. This position is responsible for administering security programs and procedures for classified and or proprietary materials, documents and equipment The FSO will exercise judgement within defined precedents and policies to analyze, issue and develop solutions while providing leadership and guidance to employees, supervisors, managers and contractors on appropriate actions required to ensure compliance with the classified security program.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

· Facilitate the submission and processing of personnel security clearances and periodic reinvestigations (SF86s) through The Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP)

· Responds to a variety of inquires of complex and diverse scope using a comprehensive knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) 32 CFR Part 117 National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) Rule

· Prepare Visit Authorization Requests through DISS

· Create and maintain Contract Security Classification Specification (DD254s) and issue DD254s, as required

· Conduct period self-inspections of security program in accordance with the NIPOM

· Conduct monthly required Defense Information System for Security (DISS) input, advise personnel of reports and compliance issues

· Potentially interact with DCSA inspectors and advise personnel accordingly

· Safeguard that all security measures are proactive, compliant & auditable in accordance with the 32 CFR Part 117 National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)

· Develop and conduct initial security awareness, security debriefing, foreign travel, and annual refresher training to ensure compliance per 32 CFR Part 117 section § 117.12(k).

· Articulate and enforce the physical and procedural security of Federal Contract Information (FCI), Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), and sensitive information

· Investigate and review all security violations, preparing reports and recommending specific preventive and corrective action to be taken.

· Position will be part-time, remote, but will require travel to Chatsworth location, as needed

· CA resident required

· Perform other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related discipline and five or more year of professional classified security experience (preferred Facility Security Officer) in a corporate or government environment

· May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education

Experience:

· 5 years related experience preferred as an FSO

· Active SECRET Security Clearance required

· Recent completion of DoD Cyber Security Awareness/Information Assurance and Personally Identifiable Information courses

· Knowledgeable on government online security systems, including e-QIP and DISS. Working knowledge of DISS account management, demonstrated ability to manage internal and external record management systems (i.e. DISS)

· Thorough knowledge of the NISPOM and a complete understanding of established policies, procedures and practices for safeguarding National Security information.

· Ability to communicate effectively as the role may potentially interact with DCSA inspectors

· Completion of all DCSA FSO Curriculum for Non-Possessing Facilities training course

· Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills. Requires the ability to represent organization as prime contact on projects, as well as able to interface and counsel employees, managers and external contacts, analyze and interpret data, initiate and plan projects, produce appropriate clear, concise and detailed documentation and present results

Physical Requirements include:

· Position requires ability to frequently stand; walk; use hands and reach with hands and arms

Pay: $36.00 - $52.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
