Role Description Army JROTC Instructors at Phoenix Union High School District provide daily classroom instruction and leadership development to high school students enrolled in the JROTC program. Instructors plan and deliver lessons aligned with Army JROTC curriculum, including citizenship, leadership, physical fitness, and life skills, while maintaining accurate records of student performance and program activities. They organize and supervise drill, ceremonies, uniform inspections, and extracurricular JROTC events such as competitions, service projects, and community outreach. Instructors collaborate with school administrators and staff to support student achievement, uphold school policies, and promote a positive, inclusive learning environment. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Peoria, AZ.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Teaching and Training skills to deliver structured instruction, mentor students, and manage classroom activities effectively.
- Candidates should possess Army experience and Command skills to implement JROTC standards, lead cadet formations, and model military bearing and discipline.
- Relevant skills such as youth mentorship, classroom management, and experience working with diverse student populations are highly beneficial.
- Completion of required Army JROTC instructor certification processes and eligibility under U.S. Army Cadet Command guidelines.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, along with proficiency in basic computer and instructional technologies, are expected.
