What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automated Stamping Press Line Technician (Die Setup) position at Phoenix Stamping Group?
Automated Stamping Press Line Technician (Die Setup)
Location: Atlanta, GA | Reports to: Production Supervisor
What a day looks like
You clock in, review the schedule with your supervisor, and head straight to the automated press line. You load the correct part program, dial in press and feed-line parameters, and verify the die setup with a first-piece check before the run. Throughout the shift, you watch system indicators, listen for changes in the line, and keep quality and safety front and center.
When a punch chips or a section needs attention, you step in—swapping components, making shims for blank and form dies, or writing a work order to send the tool to triage or the die shop. You keep die racks and mounting plates organized, move coils and parts with a forklift or overhead crane, and record production counts and labor accurately. You also audit the line for adherence to standard work and process control plans, help cross-train teammates, and champion Quick & Easy Kaizen ideas to cut scrap and improve flow.
