Role Description The Floating Wellness Director is a full-time, with responsibilities across multiple communities as needed. This role oversees resident wellness programs, care coordination, and clinical services to support physical, emotional, and social well-being. Day-to-day tasks include assessing resident needs, developing and updating individualized care plans, monitoring resident health status, and collaborating with care teams, physicians, and families. The Floating Wellness Director provides leadership to wellness and care staff, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies, and supports training and mentoring of team members. The role also involves participation in quality improvement initiatives, documentation and reporting, and active engagement in resident and family communication to promote a safe, compassionate environment.
Qualifications
- Clinical and wellness expertise, such as current nursing licensure (RN) or equivalent healthcare credential, experience in senior living, assisted living, or memory care, and strong knowledge of resident assessment and care planning.
- Leadership and team management skills, including the ability to supervise, coach, and develop care staff, delegate responsibilities effectively, and foster a collaborative, resident-centered culture.
- Regulatory and compliance knowledge, with familiarity in state and federal regulations for senior living, documentation standards, and quality and safety practices in healthcare or long-term care settings.
- Communication and interpersonal skills, including clear written and verbal communication, the ability to build trust with residents, families, and team members, and strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
- Organizational and time management skills, such as the ability to manage multiple priorities across communities, maintain accurate records, and adapt effectively to changing resident needs and schedules.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer applications used for documentation, reporting, and communication.
- Ability to work on-site across our South East Portfolio with travel between assigned communities as needed, and perform the physical aspects of the role (e.g., walking, standing, occasional lifting) with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Prior experience in a wellness director, nurse manager, or similar leadership role in senior living or long-term care is strongly preferred; relevant certifications in gerontology
