Job Title: Medical Billing Specialists
Location: Phoenix Rising BHR
Hours: Full Time – 40 hours per week (unless otherwise agreed on)

Medical Billing Specialist Summary:
The billing specialist position is dedicated to performing duties related to the agency’s billing and EHR system. This position processes payments, resolves disputes, collects, and has clean audits.
Core Responsibilities:
Medical Billing:
Claims research, posting and billing
Interact with staff, clients, payer and agency to answer
Monitor aging reports and take steps necessary to guarantee payment of claims at the request of the billing supervisor
Coordinate and collect necessary information from staff or payers for claim adjudication.
Recognize problem accounts and notify appropriate staff member or billing supervisor to assist in problem resolution.
Anticipate insurance trends and advise billing supervisor of changes
Accountabilities:
Previous medical billing in behavioral health, helpful, and not necessary.
Mastery of Nextgen, Word, Excel, E-mails, Tasking details related to insurance billing
Posting/Claim follow up, including accurate, timely processing of insurance remittance and batch (payment) posting. Timely follow up for claim denials and unpaid claims. Submit authorization, appeals, disputes, corrected claims, and claim reconsiderations.
Maintain open, positive, cordial, and team-oriented communication with supervisors and staff members.

Education:
This position minimally requires a high school diploma and experience in a support staff position with some supervision experience.
