JOB SUMMARY
The Youth Apprentice in Assembly will work under the guidance of experienced Assemblers to learn and perform electrical and mechanical assembly as well as subassembly of miscellaneous lighting fixtures and ovens. In addition, the Youth Apprentice will perform various packaging tasks. This role is designed for individuals seeking hands-on experience in assembly processes while developing skills in teamwork, problem-solving, and safety practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the assembly of components and products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Follow detailed assembly instructions and diagrams.
- Utilize hand tools, pneumatic tools, and power tools, such as screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, drills, etc. safely and effectively.
- Perform quality checks to ensure that assembled products meet required standards.
- Assist in packaging finished products for shipment, including labeling and sealing boxes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to attendance policies, ensuring punctuality and reliability in reporting for shifts.
- Comply with all safety regulations and protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Participate in training sessions and safety meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Production Supervisor or Lead.

Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a Junior or Senior actively pursuing a High School Diploma.
- Must be enrolled in the GPS Program or other youth apprenticeship program.
- Strong interest in learning about assembly, packaging, and manufacturing processes.
- Basic understanding of tools and equipment is a plus.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team or independently with minimal supervision.
