Position Title: Shift Supervisor

Overview of Position: The Shift Supervisor will be an integral part of the site's leadership. The Shift Supervisor will support the General Manager, the production leadership team, overall production efficiencies, and, most importantly, the workforce as it relates to employee engagement, employee retention, and morale.
Primary Responsibilities
This job takes place in a Steel Mill setting, requiring a sense of high-level safety reverence using the required PPE for the environment.
Physical Demand
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and listen in potentially noisy indoor and outdoor environments. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk on both flat and uneven surfaces, sit, climb stairs, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. This job requires the employee to lift at least 25 pounds on a regular basis.

- Supervise hourly staff
- Conducts the pre-shift line-up
- Plan resource deployment
- Knowledge of scheduling, staffing, and adapting to constant operational adjustments
- Create, maintain, and file spreadsheets containing shift data
- Communicate with employees to collect daily reports
- Document all completed work
- Stay in constant communication with the mill
- Capable of working well with other departments
- Able to follow and enforce Phoenix standards of safety at all times
- Observe relevant safety, accident prevention, and environmental regulations
- Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations

Required Education And Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- Willingness to work in a Steel Mill
- Two years or more of supervisory experience
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong aptitude, knowledge of steel mill operations, and heavy mobile equipment
