Lead Rooftop Solar Installer - $35-$40/hr - Chicagoland
Phoenix Exteriors is hiring an experienced Lead Rooftop Solar Installer.
We have a strong installation backlog heading into Q4 and need a proven roof lead who can hit the ground running. This is a full-time, W-2 position for someone with real rooftop solar installation experience - not an entry-level training position.
Pay: $35-$40 per hour, based on experience

The Role
- Lead residential rooftop solar installations from start to finish
- Lay out arrays and install attachments, flashing, racking and panels
- Coordinate directly with our licensed electrician on every installation
- Help select and train a second installer to build a dependable two-person crew
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized jobsite
- Keep installations on schedule and communicate job progress
- Inspect completed work and take pride in clean, watertight installations
What We Need
- At least two years of hands-on rooftop solar installation experience
- Previous experience leading installations or directing other installers
- Strong understanding of roof attachments, flashing and waterproofing
- Comfortable working at heights and on steep residential roofs
- Safety-first mindset and pride in quality workmanship
- Reliable, punctual and able to lead by example
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift and carry solar panels and installation materials
Experience with Tesla, Enphase, SolarEdge, Powerwall or battery-storage installations is a plus.
