PARTS PREP TECHNICIAN
Oscoda, Ml (on the old Wurtsmith Air Force Base)
*Minimum Starting Wage S15.00 per hour
RESPONSIB!LITIES:
The Parts Prep Technician plays a crucial role in the production process
by accurately and efficiently preparing parts and materials for various
manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate wilt be detait-oriented,
possess a basic mechanical aptitude, and be committed to maintaining
high safety and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.
*Material Preparation: Prepare materials and components for daily
operations, which may involve cleaning, grinding, sanding, deburring, or
masking surfaces before disassembly.
o Quality control: Ensure parts are properly prepared and staged for
inspection. Following supporting all safety and procedural rules and
regulations. Additional duties as may be assigned by the Lead
inspector.
o Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate and monitor
equipment such as parts washers, sandblasters, or basic machinery,
performing routine maintenance and minor troubleshooting as
directed.
o safety and Cleanliness: Adhere strictly to all company safety
protocols and guidelines and maintain a clean, organized, and safe
work environment.
o Collaboration: Communicate effectively and collaborate with team
members, supervisors and other departments to ensure efficient
workflow.
o Continuous improvement: Participate in continuous improvement
initiatives and offer suggestions to enhance processes, productivity and
product quality.
Qualifications and Skills:
o Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
o Experience: Prior experience in a manufacturing, production or
warehouse environment is preferred.
o Technical Skills: Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with
hand tools and basic machinery are not required but helpful.
o Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move materials/equipment
(up to 45 Ibs. frequently, potentially more infrequently), stand for
prolonged periods and work around various solvents or chemicals
while following safety procedures.
o Adaptability: Willingness to learn new tasks, work in different
roles as needed and be flexible with working hours/shifts.
