EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Experience
Associate's Degree in in business science (Preferred)
3 or more Experience in administrative support position of increasing responsibility (Required)
1 or more Relevant data entry experience in healthcare related field (Required)
1 or more Experience in a hospital or managed care setting (Preferred)
1 or more Experience in chart analysis, chart auditing, or chart abstraction (Preferred)
Essential Functions
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides administrative duties to support the effective operation of the office and department including but not limited to department scheduling, utilizing Microsoft Office, calendar maintenance, etc.)
Composes and creates various documents, including presentations and reports using appropriate formats and software. Handles communications/ documents of both a general and highly confidential nature.
Gathers and compiles information from self and others and drafts correspondents and reports to facilitate ongoing communications and efficient departmental operations. Assures department records are maintained in accordance with all applicable organization & legal requirements.
Maintains office and confidential files for prompt and easy retrieval and following up on pending matters.
Sorts and prioritizes incoming mail. Screens phone calls and responds or refers to others when appropriate; tracks to assure prompt response.
Maintains calendar and coordinates schedules. Screens phone calls and responds or refers to others when appropriate.
Organizes and expedites the flow of work through the manager's office and initiates follow-up action.
Greets visitors and telephone callers and interfaces on behalf of department, where appropriate.
Management of AMION scheduling system for physician scheduling (varies by department)
Service Line Charge Entry Responsibilities
Abstract clinical documentation from patient's medical record for purposes of capturing charges.
Provide education to clinical staff for proper documentation and charge capture.
Request service code(s) from the Charge master Analyst for chargeable items without a service code.
Illustrates accuracy and consistency through Quality Review results of all audit documentation.
Provides consistent input into monthly observations and executive summary reports.
Illustrates creative problem solving skills through documentation of process improvement reporting and/or internal reporting mechanisms. Illustrates proficiency in the use of all internal software applications.
Additional Duties
Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization.
Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
Maintains current Knowledge in present areas of responsibility to include any specialty certification requirements (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).
Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills.
Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
