Position Summary
Phixser is seeking an organized, dependable, and customer-focused Plumbing Dispatcher to coordinate the daily schedules of our plumbing technicians.
The dispatcher will receive service requests, collect accurate customer and job information, assign work orders based on technician availability and location, monitor each job throughout the day, and communicate schedule updates to customers and technicians.
The ideal candidate can work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple service calls simultaneously, and make effective scheduling decisions while maintaining excellent customer service.
Primary Responsibilities
- Receive incoming plumbing service requests by phone, email, text message, and online platforms.
- Collect and verify customer information, service addresses, plumbing concerns, access instructions, and appointment availability.
- Schedule and dispatch plumbing technicians according to location, qualifications, availability, job priority, and estimated job duration.
- Maintain efficient technician routes and minimize unnecessary travel time.
- Provide customers with appointment windows and communicate delays, rescheduling needs, or technician arrival updates.
- Monitor active work orders throughout the day and follow up with technicians regarding job status.
- Ensure technicians properly update work orders, arrival statuses, notes, photos, estimates, and completion information.
- Coordinate emergency and same-day plumbing service requests.
- Communicate with customers, technicians, property managers, warranty companies, and office personnel.
- Review work orders for complete and accurate information before closing or submitting them.
- Assist with obtaining approvals, purchase orders, authorizations, and additional job information when required.
- Reschedule appointments affected by delays, parts availability, customer conflicts, or technician emergencies.
- Escalate customer complaints, safety concerns, major plumbing failures, and scheduling conflicts to management.
- Maintain professional and respectful communication at all times.
- Support the office with follow-up calls, appointment confirmations, estimates, and other administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dispatching, scheduling, customer service, or home-service operations is preferred.
- Plumbing, HVAC, electrical, construction, property management, or home-warranty experience is strongly preferred.
- Basic understanding of common plumbing services and terminology is helpful.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organization, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple calls, work orders, technicians, and schedule changes simultaneously.
- Comfortable making decisions and adjusting schedules throughout the day.
- Professional and calm when communicating with upset customers or handling urgent situations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to enter information accurately.
- Comfortable using computers, mobile applications, email, online portals, and dispatching software.
- Bilingual English and Spanish is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.

Schedule
