What are the responsibilities and job description for the Planner position at Phillips & Temro Industries?
RESPONSIBIITIES AND DUTIES:
- Develop and maintain production plan for assigned product families, balancing customer demands and production capacity.
- Perform planning and buying responsibilities for assigned purchased materials.
- Ensure timely communication of schedule changes to all impacted parties including customer service, production, purchasing, logistics and the warehouse.
- Utilize all inputs possible to the planning and procurement process - SAP outputs, intrinsic sales data, field reports from QA and Purchasing, observed supplier performance, production-related data, etc.
- Actively support Lean activities as they apply to scheduling work and materials - look for ways to eliminate waste wherever it occurs in the supply/production chain.
- Optimize inventory to achieve FY targets and improve customer on-time delivery performance.
- Coordinate and schedule other PTI locations.
- Help drive cost reductions and Supply Chain initiatives.
- Ensure that planning activities fully support lean/visual manufacturing concept.
- Maintain efficient communication with inter-departmental personnel.
- Perform other duties as required, e.g.:
- Maintain IATF16949 suitable records.
- Track and evaluate "premium freight".
- Assist in sourcing/qualifying vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a manufacturing planning environment.
- ERP experience required; SAP preferred.
- APICS or PMAC certification preferred
- Computer skills with high proficiency in MS Office and ERP (SAP preferred)
Base Pay Range: $65k - $80k
