Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pool Leak Detection and Repair Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving abilities, and hands-on experience with leak detection and repair for both residential and commercial pools. This role plays a critical part in diagnosing and resolving pool leaks to ensure customer satisfaction and minimize water loss.
Duties:
- Perform comprehensive leak detection services using industry-standard equipment such as electronic listening devices, pressure testing tools, dye testing kits, and scuba gear when needed.
- Accurately diagnose the source and location of leaks in pool shells, plumbing, fittings, and equipment.
- Complete repairs on pool structures, underground plumbing, and pool equipment related to leaks (e.g., skimmers, main drains, returns, and suction lines).
- Communicate findings and recommended solutions to customers in a clear and professional manner.
- Provide written reports and estimates for leak repairs as needed.
- Ensure all work is performed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company standards and local codes.
- Maintain and care for all leak detection tools and equipment.
- Collaborate with office staff and service managers to schedule jobs and update customer records.
- Stay current on new leak detection technologies, methods, and industry best practices.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in pool leak detection or similar troubleshooting role (plumbing, pool service, irrigation, etc.) is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of pool plumbing systems, hydraulic layouts, and pool construction materials.
- Ability to operate leak detection tools and testing equipment safely and effectively (training available for the right candidate).
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and, when required, entering pools in diving gear for inspections.
- Excellent attention to detail and diagnostic skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage your schedule effectively.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Preferred (but not required):
- SCUBA certification or willingness to become certified.
- Experience with PVC pipe repairs, concrete patching, and pool resurfacing materials.
