Salary Range: $100,000 To $110,000 Annually
POSITION SUMMARY: Phillips Academy is pleased to announce a call for applications for a Visiting Scholar in AI and Education for the 2025-26 school year. Integrated into the Phillips Academy community, the Visiting Scholar will contribute to the intellectual development of teaching and learning efforts related to AI. The Visiting Scholar will teach occasional classes; lead community-wide workshops; convene students, faculty, staff, and administrators; and contribute to broader scholarship efforts related to AI and education and in alignment with institutional goals. Reporting to the Tang Institute Director and working closely with the Head of School and Dean of Studies, the Visiting Scholar will serve as a mentor to students and colleagues within departments and offices across Phillips Academy.

Minimum Job Qualifications
- Relevant academic and/or professional expertise in the field(s) of artificial intelligence and education.
- Demonstrated record of scholarly or professional achievement related to AI and/or AI and education.
- Experience teaching in a K-12 and/or higher education setting or settings.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an academic or research environment.
- Experience conducting professional development programming.
- A record of synthesizing and sharing research with public audiences.
- A research agenda or project aimed at contributing to the field of AI and education.
- Engage the community. Engage students, faculty, staff, administrators, and the broader public through classes, workshops, lectures, seminars, and informal exchanges
- Conduct research. Conduct independent and/or collaborative research related to AI and teaching and learning. Contribute to publications and other scholarly and public-facing outputs. Participate in and present at conferences and other events.
- Serve as a mentor. Mentor students, faculty, staff, and administrators on developments related to AI and education and provide insight into emerging trends and implications for Phillips Academy and other educational institutions.
- The Visiting Scholar position is for a fixed one-year appointment that runs from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.
- The appointment does not imply or confer any expectation of renewal, extension, or future employment with Phillips Academy beyond the stated term.
