Phillips Academy seeks an Assistant Coach/Pole Vault Coach for indoor and outdoor track and field program for the 2026-2027 school.
Working alongside the Director of Track and Field, coaching responsibilities include supporting athletes to develop in the pole vault via drills, mobility work, conditioning, and feedback on form/technique/approach during practices and meets. Occasionally, the pole vault event coach will also work with athletes from other event groups, for example on lifting and recovery days. All coaches on staff also contribute to meet day operations.

Winter Indoor Season | December 1, 2026 – February 2027
- Approximately 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday
- Practices typically run 3:15–5:00 p.m.
- Meets are typically held Wednesday afternoons, with occasional Saturday meets
- No track and field programming from December 18–January 4
- Approximately 20–25 hours per week, Monday–Saturday
- Practices typically run 3:15–5:00 p.m.
- Home and away meets are held most Saturdays during the spring term
The Strongest Applicants Will Have The Following Qualifications
- Ability to positively motivate, inspire and be role model to high-school aged students.
- At least 2 years’ experience coaching in track and field club, high school or college setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Track and Field/Pole Vaulting experience at high school, college or higher level.
- Be adaptable and enjoy working alongside the current coaching staff
- Ability and willingness to manage a Monday-Saturday practice/game schedule which includes travel to away opponents.
