What are the responsibilities and job description for the Energy Broker position at Philadelphia Sales Group?
We're looking for an Energy Broker with the grit of a negotiator and the heart of a tree-hugger. The Energy Broker will be the mastermind behind our B2B Energy deals, haggling for a healthier planet. If you can score a deal so good it makes a wind turbine spin with joy, we need to talk.
As an Energy Broker, you're a green-energy gambler who always beats the house. The Energy Broke reads the energy market like a psychic, calling bluffs on expensive suppliers and going all-in on deals that make both the wallet and the planet feel like winners. The only thing we're gambling with here is how many polar bears we can save with each new contract!
The Energy Broker is the storyteller of the green revolution, where every contract is a new chapter in a company's journey. You're Shakespeare with a solar flair, penning sonnets about kilowatt-hours and epic tales of carbon reduction. "To be, or not to be... sustainable?"
Day-to-Day Duties of the Energy Broker:
- Communicate with local businesses to assess energy requirements, budget constraints, and sustainability priorities.
- Meet or exceed sales targets through effective business-to-business sales strategies and effective pipeline management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients through consistent communication, transparency, and trust.
- Provide education on renewable energy solutions, carbon reduction strategies, and long-term financial benefits to support informed decision-making.
- Analyze client energy consumption data to identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend efficiency improvements or alternative sourcing strategies.
- Conduct market research to evaluate supplier offerings, comparing pricing structures, contract terms, and renewable energy options.
- Solidify energy contracts on behalf of clients, securing competitive rates while ensuring compliance with company and client regulations.
- Maintain accurate CRM records to document client communications, contract timelines, and supplier interactions for reporting and account management.
What We’re Looking For in an Energy Broker
- High school diploma or GED required; coursework in business, energy management, or environmental science preferred.
- Prior experience in sales, brokerage, or client advisory roles—ideally within energy, utilities, or sustainability-focused sectors.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex energy data into actionable, client-friendly recommendations.
- Proficient in CRM platforms and analytics tools, with confidence in interpreting usage reports, supplier pricing, and market trends.
- Deep interest in sustainability and a commitment to helping businesses adopt cost-effective, eco-conscious energy solutions.
