Requirements
EDUCATION AND LICENSING: Juris Doctor degree and admitted to bar and in good standing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience in general real estate law and transactional law, and/or litigation. The candidate must be able to work under pressure, work independently, manage his/her own workload with little oversight, possess strong attention to detail and keen analytical skills, and have an awareness of legal and commercial risks. The candidate must be able to understand and interpret statutes, administrative regulations, and case law. Strong oral and written communication skills are also required.

Typical Examples of Work
- Advises PLB Board, Deputy Director, Director, and staff on all legal matters pertaining to PLB real estate transactions and operational matters.
- Attend all regular and special meetings of the Board of Directors and all meetings of senior staff where legal issues may arise.
- Maintains constant study of all Federal, State, and local legislation in order to determine the possible effect on PLB operations.
- Prepares legal opinions, as needed, and assists in drafting City ordinances and other proposed legislation as dictated by operational requirements.
- Meet with Federal, State, and local officials and attorneys, Title Company and redeveloper representatives, civic groups, and constituents on matters having legal implications of PLB land transactions or operations.
- Performs any general or special legal functions or services of an extraordinary nature involved in the representation of the PLB in effectuating its legislatively mandated functions and objectives, and when directed to do so by the Director of the Philadelphia Land Bank.
- Acts as counsel for the PLB in extraordinary litigation matters pertaining to real estate, upon such terms and conditions as the Board may direct; Serves as needed on committees; Participates in policy formation by the Board of Directors and drafting of Land Bank policies.
