The Philadelphia Housing Development Corporation (PHDC), a non-profit organization funded primarily by the City of Philadelphia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, is looking for a Paralegal II to join its team.
Under the general supervision of the Senior Counsel, Land Management, the Paralegal II is responsible for routine legal matters encountered in PHDC operations of a general character or related to individual projects, and does related work as required.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Training and Experience: Matriculation at an accredited law school or graduation from an accredited Paralegal School with a complete certificate in all areas of law, including, but not limited to, civil litigation, real estate law, corporation and legal research, with a minimum of two years of law office experience and at least two years completed at an accredited college or university.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Good knowledge of legal principles and their application; good knowledge of court procedures and rules of evidence; good knowledge of federal, state, and local laws affecting PHDC programs. Ability to understand and interpret constitutional provisions, statutes, administrative regulations, and precedents; ability to analyze facts, evidence, and precedents and arrive at logical interpretations; ability to prepare legal documents and records.
Summary
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Prepares legal forms and correspondence; researches a variety of points of law in preparation of written briefs and memoranda of law, etc.; attends meetings where legal issues or interpretations of PHDC rules and policy might be at issue; refers matters of policy and special practice to the Senior Counsel; files court documents in federal and local courts; assists staff attorneys in preparation and trying of PHDC cases; works in processing matters through City departments and agencies; and carries out such other duties as may be directed by the Senior Counsel and/or Director of Real Estatel; under general supervision, is responsible for reviewing insurance coverage of redevelopers and contractors to determine compliance with PHDC requirements, advises appropriate PHDC staff, redevelopers and contractors; writes letters to agents, carriers and/or third parties where PHDC is an additional insured; and does related work as required.
