The Adjuvant Tech 1 is an integral part of our Manufacturing team based out of our US - Omaha, NE - Vaccines site.

Hourly rate range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00

Position Details

The Adjuvant Tech Is An Integral Part Of Our Adjuvant Team Responsible For Our Phibro Vaccines Omaha (PVO) Office In Omaha, NE. The Adjuvant Tech Will Perform All Tasks Related To The Manufacture Of Adjuvant Products. Will Learn And Understand Aseptic Techniques Associated With The Manufacture Of Adjuvants As Well As Comply With All Standard Operating Procedures And Regulatory Documents. Operate a Variety Of Types Of Basic Laboratory Equipment. Maintain a Positive Attitude And Work Well In a Team Environment. Perform All Job-related Functions In a Safe Manner. Demonstrate Reliability In Attendance. Specific Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

Key Responsibilities

Record Keeping and Documentation

  • Maintain complete and accurate records

Equipment

  • Operate assigned equipment, i.e. PLC controlled packaging line, pellet filler, vision system, pouch sealer, etc.
  • Clean production equipment and facilities.
  • Set-up/ disassemble packaging equipment.
  • Operate specific in-process devices associated with the equipment.
  • Operate material handling devices, electric pallet jack, manual pallet jacks, and hi-lifts.
  • Apply the metric system to assigned process calculations.
  • Operate colloid mill
  • Disassemble, clean and sanitize equipment
  • Perform measurements with scales, glassware, etc.
  • Monitor temperatures with various devices
  • Operate autoclave to sterilize equipment, product, and ingredients

SOPs

  • Understand and follow all SOPs associated with the department
  • Apply proper housekeeping techniques
  • Follow proper dress, secondary gowning, and personal protective equipment policies

Process

  • Familiarity with production and process flow
  • Know proper staging and storage of supplies and equipment
  • Learn key terminology associated with Adjuvant Manufacturing
  • Know/develop understanding of emulsion chemistry/technology
  • Practice proper aseptic technique

  • Education and/or Experience: Associates Degree in Scientific Discipline and/or five years in a relevant production setting. Minimum of one year experience in a laboratory/production environment. Experience with colloid milling and emulsions.
  • Reasoning Ability: The ability to troubleshoot problems.
  • Decision Making Responsibilities: Communicate questionable issues to supervisor. Follow directions either written or oral. Ability to identify process anomalies/errors.
  • Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret in the English language. Basic math skills and ability to use metric system. Basic mechanical skills. Working knowledge of Windows based applications
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. to shoulder height
  • Work Environment: Basic laboratory environment that requires the wearing of personal protective equipment. Ability to work in environment that requires the use of large pieces of equipment. Ability to work with Sterilizers and in an environment that produces louder noises.
