SUMMARY
The Licensed Practical Nurse manages, organizes and administers nursing care for patients of all ages under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Compliance with rules and regulations of all applicable federal, state and local laws as well as PMHC policies is a condition of employment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Incumbent must have the skills, ability and judgment to perform the following essential job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Participates in the identification of information regarding the patient's physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs for patients of all ages.
- Documents and reports, when necessary, symptoms, reactions, and changes in the patient's condition to the Team leader.
- Assists in the development, implementation, revision and evaluation of a formal plan of care.
- Administers medications using the "Five Rights of Medication Administration".
- Provides and instructs patients and/or their families with educational information appropriate for age and learning abilities.
- Creates and maintains a comfortable and safe environment for patients, families and visitors.
- Organizes and prioritizes daily assignments to provide optimal patient care.
- Demonstrates competency annually in assigned areas of work.
- Maintains patient and employee confidentiality at all times.
- Complies with PMHC Code of Conduct.

REQUIRED EDUCATION
- Degree or Diploma from an accredited college of nursing.
COMPETENCIES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Nebraska.
- Current BLS certification.
