General Summary
- The Supervisor is responsible for supervision of staff, ordering and receiving of food and supplies, inventories, stocking of floor supplies, cleaning and sanitation of all storage areas.
- Notifies production staff of food shortages.
- Communicates instructions for food production with food service staff to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Inspects food areas equipment for proper cleaning and sanitation.
- Completes ordering of food and supplies daily to prevent lack of inventory.
- Assists with interviewing applicants, onboarding staff, scheduling staff, and ensuring computer training is completed for staff.
- Maintains standards for performance complying with health and food safety standards.
- Supervises employees and team performance; provides new employee orientation; trains or provides adequate training for employees; coaches, counsels; evaluates employees; investigates complaints or performance concerns; recommends and administers disciplinary action as needed in consultation with Director and Human Resources.
- Assists with creating new menus and recipe ideas.
- High school education or equivalent preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- One to three years of Food Service Supervisory experience required.
- Certified Dietary Manager desired.
- Mental ability required to follow written and verbal instructions and perform simple math tasks. Long periods of standing and walking. Ability to read and write. Ability to learn and understand policies and procedures. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs at a time during shift.
- May come in contact with patients. Will experience heat and noise from the kitchen, and ware washing areas. Will experience wet floors and exposure to hot steam, water, chemicals, glass breakage and sharp knives.
