PHD, Inc is seeking highly motivated, detail oriented individual to join our Fort Wayne, IN Facilities Team!
PHD's Fort Wayne Facility is looking for a Facilities Manager todevelop, maintain, and continuously improve equipment and facilities through directing effective maintenance management and continuous improvement of the Preventive Maintenance Program. The ideal candidate for this role should be a detail-oriented and organized individual with experience in machine maintenance, facility upkeep, and team leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the regularly scheduled measurement, management, and evaluation of Preventative Maintenance
- Developing accurate maintenance budgets
- Effective personnel planning, hiring and developing an effective workforce
- Effective cost control, expense and capital budgeting to support organizational and departmental goals
- Maintain all PHD’s Fort Wayne facilities and promptly resolve regulatory nonconformance issues
- Maintain organizational OSHA compliance
- Support safety training by participating as a facilitator and/or instructor
- Maintain the JDEMaintenance Module
- Support the maintenance, design and assembly of benches, tooling, fixturing and automated equipment.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, State and local fire codes, and environmental regulations
- Self-directed achievement of departmental and organizational goals

- Effective budgeting and expense control
- Good written and verbal skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Willing to participate in continuing education to learn new techniques as they emerge

- Knowledge and experience with PLC’s or CNC’s also desirable but not mandatory
CRITICAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma
- Minimum three years’ experience in fields of electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic mechanical knowledge
- OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain OSHA 30 certification within 12 months of hire (company-provided).
- Training Certifications or ability to obtain Trainer Certifications such as Certified Forklift Trainer, Lockout Tagout, Arc flash safety, and other OSHA-required trainer certifications.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Time is spent in an office and on the manufacturing floor, both of which are climate controlled
- Time is spent in front of a computer screen keyboarding and manipulating a mouse
- Troubleshooting could be done on the manufacturing floor around various types of machinery which include moving parts, chemicals, coolant, and by-products of material being formed
- Higher level of noise on the manufacturing floor as opposed to the office setting
- One level with concrete floors, no steps, stairs, or inclines
- Rubber/foam mats are present in the machining and assembly areas
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Extensive periods of sitting, standing, walking, arm and hand motion, some foot motion
- Manual dexterity, rotation of wrists
- Good visual ability
