Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately.
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes clearly and ensuring their comfort.
- Support clinical procedures
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently by updating patient information, coding diagnoses with ICD codes, and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Administer medications or injections following established protocols while adhering to safety standards like Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, coordinating appointments, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is mandatory for effective communication with diverse patient populations.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation and patient record management.
- Ability to perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, EKGs, urinalysis, etc
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient service excellence and teamwork within fast-paced healthcare environments.
