Job Title: Medical Assistant - Gastroenterology Clinic
Schedule:
Monday - Friday
Start time between 8:00 AM - 8:30 AM
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our busy Gastroenterology clinic in Thomasville, NC. This role involves supporting multiple providers in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Room patients and prepare them for provider visits
- Obtain and document vital signs
- Perform medication reconciliation
- Assist with procedure preparation
- Administer injections as directed
- Collect rectal swab specimens
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records
- Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use
Patient Volume:
- Support rotating providers
- Assist with up to 28 patients per day
Additional Information:
- No blood draws required (on-site lab handles all phlebotomy)
Compensation:
- Up to $23 per hour (based on experience)
Qualifications:
- Active Medical Assistant certification required through one of the following:
- National Healthcare Association (NHA)
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume setting
