💰 Pay: $23-$25/hour
🕑 Shift: 2:00 PM-10:00 PM | 5 Days per Week

We are seeking a professional, dependable Telephone Operator / Communications Operator to join the telecommunications team at a prestigious hospital facility in Midtown Manhattan.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication, customer service, and computer skills who is comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Receive, direct, and place internal and external telephone calls
• Operate AMCOM PC operator workstation and call center systems
• Initiate and manage paging requests through computerized, radio, and aural paging systems
• Support medical, surgical, fire, bomb threat, and other emergency communications according to established hospital procedures
• Maintain accurate documentation of emergency calls and notifications
• Enter and maintain departmental on-call schedules in the AMCOM system
• Process physician answering service information
• Assist with Zetron paging system updates, pager troubleshooting, and database maintenance
• Receive and document telecommunications trouble calls
• Provide administrative and clerical support as needed
• Deliver professional and timely customer service to hospital staff and callers
QUALIFICATIONS:
✔ High School Diploma or GED required
✔ Strong verbal and written English communication skills
✔ Excellent telephone etiquette and customer service skills
✔ Ability to remain calm and accurate during emergency situations
✔ Strong computer and data-entry skills
✔ AMCOM, paging system, Zetron, hospital switchboard, or answering service experience is a PLUS
✔ Candidates with varying levels of experience will be considered!
