Our client, an established manufacturing firm located in Melville, Long Island NY is looking for an experienced Vice President of Engineering. This role will lead the Engineering team in one of their key spaces. This role requires a leader with deep technical expertise in embedded systems.The ideal candidate will have experience successfully designing and delivering complex microprocessor-based electro-mechanical products and guiding them through regulatory certification and eventually into production.Responsibilities:Provide strategic direction and hands-on technical leadership for microprocessor-based design, analog circuits and low frequency wireless Engineering disciplines.Drive architecture decisions for embedded systems / ARM-based processors.Oversee the design and development of control systems for electro-mechanical assemblies.Establish Engineering best practices, design standards, and development methodologies.Lead technical innovation while ensuring reliability, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.Balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical design contribution.Able to be hands-on and tackle complex design challenges with the team.Guide products from concept through production.Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team.Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.Manage departmental budgets, resources, and project timelines.Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical engineering, software, operations, and product management teams.Requirements:Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Electrical Engineering.15 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering5 years in Senior Leadership roles.Extensive hands-on experience with embedded system design and ARM processor architecture.Proven track record managing hardware development teams.Experience with IoT devices and connected or battery-powered systems.Deep understanding of analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, and signal processing.Knowledge of embedded firmware development in C/C for ARM-based micro-controllers a plus.Proficiency with PCB design tools.Strong understanding of communication protocols.Direct experience managing UL certification processes for electrical products.Proven track record navigating FCC compliance for electronic devices.
Salary : $180,000 - $200,000
