Location: Project site-based (80%) and office/WFH-based (20%)
Project Site: Southwestern USA
Work Schedule: Site schedule: Mon-Fri (10-12 hours/day)
Employment Type: Contract | 12-Month Contract to begin, with 6-Month extension
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Project Quality Manager on behalf of our EPCM client to support the construction of a major gold processing facility in the western United States. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will lead all quality management activities across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project turnover.
This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring project execution meets quality, regulatory, contractual, and industry requirements while driving a culture of continuous improvement and right-first-time execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Project Quality Management Plan (PQMP).
- Lead project quality programs, audits, inspections, and compliance activities.
- Oversee contractor, supplier, and fabrication quality performance.
- Manage NCRs, deficiencies, corrective actions, and root cause investigations.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate quality activities across civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation scopes.
- Support commissioning, mechanical completion, turnover, and startup readiness activities.
- Track and report quality KPIs, audit findings, inspection status, and project quality metrics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) is preferred but not required.
- 10 years of quality management experience within industrial construction environments.
- 5 years supporting EPC/EPCM mining, mineral processing, heavy industrial, or major infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing quality throughout engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover phases, with a heavy emphasis on construction quality.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and applicable industrial construction standards.
Preferred Certifications
- ASQ CMQ/OE or CQE
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- NACE Coating Inspector
- PMP
