PharmPro is seeking a highly qualified and dynamic Staff Pharmacist our our pharmacy services within a comprehensive healthcare facility.
Position: Pharmacist
Skills preferred: Inpatient Hospital experience
Illinois pharmacist licensure required
Coverage Dates needed: Train June 22nd and cover until permenant pharmacist is hired.
Coverage Hours needed: M-F 8am-4:30pm plus on-call after each shift
Weekend coverage needed: on-call only
Order Entry System: HCS; experience preferred
Site Automation: Omnicell; experience preferred
Site Specialty Areas: Behavioral
Staff Size: only DOP, no tech support
Site Background/History: New Start, go-live June 11th
Job Responsibilities/Expectations:Checking scripts and, setting up pharmacy.
No sterile compounding involved
Training provided: HCS & Omnicell training
Local candidate preferred but can review travel expenses
Duties
- Provide strategic leadership for pharmacy services across all hospital departments, including emergency rooms, intensive care units (ICU), pediatrics, and trauma centers.
- Develop and implement policies that ensure medication safety, proper administration, and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Oversee medication procurement, inventory management, and distribution processes to maintain optimal stock levels and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with medical staff to optimize pharmacotherapy plans, including acute pain management, critical care medications, and IV infusion protocols.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians, fostering professional development and maintaining high-performance standards.
- Ensure compliance with managed care policies and accreditation requirements related to pharmacy operations.
- Lead initiatives in clinical pharmacy practice such as patient assessment, medication reconciliation, and discharge planning.
- Promote patient-centered care by supporting medication therapy management programs tailored for diverse populations including pediatrics and trauma patients.
- Maintain detailed documentation of pharmacy activities and participate in hospital committees focused on quality improvement and patient safety.
- Stay current with advancements in physiology knowledge, anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques to enhance clinical decision-making.
Pay: $82.00 - $85.00 per hour
