Job Purpose

The Director/Sr. Director, Medical Strategic Account Management is a US medical expert responsible for building and sustaining strategic relationships with national population health decision makers (PHDMs). This position will serve as the field medical lead supporting market access strategy through scientific exchange of the clinical and economic value of PTI therapies/pipeline products to key PHDM stakeholders in community oncology, IDN, payor, GPO, and clinical pathway organizations. The Director/Sr. Director will compliantly support commercial market access to facilitate access to PTI therapies through proactive engagement of customers, ensuring fair balanced scientific exchange and non-promotional medical information. As a member of the Medical Affairs Leadership Team (MALT), this position will design medical strategies to support appropriate patient selection and PTI product integration into clinical pathways, coordinate medical affairs activities within strategic accounts, and support training and medical excellence initiatives for Medical Affairs stakeholders. The role of the Director/Sr. Director, Medical Strategic Account Management is non-promotional in nature.

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute/Design Medical Affairs strategic account strategies to support market access and facilitate patient access to PTI therapies
  • Develop, lead, and maintain relationships with national PHDMs in strategic account segments, including community oncology, IDN, payor, clinical pathway organizations, and GPOs through scientific exchange of the clinical and economic value of PTI approved and pipeline products
  • Execute HEOR strategy to PHDMs utilizing economic modeling, value dossiers, real-world evidence, and budget impact models
  • Coordinate, direct, and lead national Medical Affairs efforts to ensure the inclusion of PTI therapies in clinical pathways, payor pathways, and treatment order sets
  • Collect and analyze insights to adjust medical plans as appropriate
  • Identify and facilitate approval of HEOR/RWE data generation opportunities aligned with medical publication plans and data generation needs
  • Support the training and mentorship of medical affairs colleagues, inclusive of field rides and development of PHDM-targeted resources
  • Design medical affairs KPIs for monthly/annual reporting to innovatively measure medical affairs impact

Education & Professional Background

  • The qualified candidate will hold a doctoral degree in a health sciences-related field—such as a PharmD, DNP, MD, or PhD—or a master’s degree in health sciences along with relevant and extensive industry experience, and a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape
  • 3 years of related work experience (MSL, Market Access, Managed Care, Value and Access); 2 years of HEOR/RWE experience preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of the healthcare industry including the pharmaceutical industry (R&D, clinical research, and commercialization) as well as the managed care marketplace, hospital systems, and integrated systems of care
  • Competency in medical science, epidemiology, clinical trials, drug development, outcomes research, and Pharmacoeconomics including a deep understanding of research methods, health economics, and related disciplines
  • Proven experience building KOL relationships or related therapeutic area with established track record of developing relationships with top tier medical experts
  • Previous experience of working within Hematology/Oncology preferred
  • Knowledge of the PhRMA, OIG and other relevant guidelines
  • Good understanding of the clinical development process and the ICH-GCP guidelines

Flexibility

Our roles can evolve over time. Reasonable flexibility is, therefore, a key part of any job at Pharmacosmos. Significant variations in duties and responsibilities should be discussed between the employee and manager.

Additional Information

  • Field-based role – must be located within the pre-specified regional territory.
  • Travelling – ability to travel up to 70% (based on the size of respective geography).
  • Overnight stays – depending on location, on average 1-3 nights per week (inc. some weekends).

Salary : $180,000 - $260,000
